Welcome to the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Education (SLAAED)
The Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Education (SLAAED) is the premier professional organization for educationists in Sri Lanka. Established in 1991 to address the absence of a national body representing the education profession, SLAAED brings together researchers, academics, education administrators, curriculum developers, principals, and teachers.
Now marking its 34th year, SLAAED continues to serve as a platform for professional collaboration, knowledge exchange, and educational innovation. The Association is registered with the Registrar of Companies and is led by a team of experienced educationists with expertise in teaching, research, curriculum design, management, and school supervision.
SLAAED contributes to national education development through professional development programmes, scholarships for university students, research initiatives, awareness programmes and webinars, its role as an Independent Verification Agency, and the publication of its journal Shikha.
As President, I warmly invite all education professionals to become members of SLAAED and join us in our mission to advance education for the benefit of the nation.
