Author Guidelines – Shiksha Magazine

Introduction

The Shiksha magazine in Education is a peer-reviewed scholarly magazine, publishing high-
quality articles mainly related to general Education. The main aim of the magazine is to promote
teachers and administrators who are working in the field of education to engage in research and
make effective decisions based on the research findings to enhance the quality of education in the
classroom level as well as school level. The Shiksha accepts articles in the forms of original
research articles, good practices that needs to be disseminated and replicated in similar settings,
achievements of teachers, students and schools at national, provincial and zonal levels that need
to be appreciated.

If the article is based on research, it should contain the following sections
Introduction/Background to the topic
Objectives of the study
Research methods and methodology in brief
Findings of the research
Conclusions and implications to the classroom
List of references

Any other articles related to the areas mention in the introduction

Length of the Article: 45 pages (maximum) inclusive of abstract, keywords, main text and
references.
Document type: Article need to be sent in WORD FORMAT (docx).
Format of the Articles
Title: Font size 16, bold, centered, Times New Roman (English); Sinhala (Iskola Potha/FM
Abaya);Tamil (Bamini)
Author name, affiliation, and email: Font size 12, bold, centered
Main Headings: Font size 14, bold, Left aligned
Subheadings: Font size 12, bold, Left aligned
Main Text: Should be consistent throughout the manuscript Font size 12, Spacing: 1 space (Before
& After), Margins: 1 inch right, top and bottom. 2 inches to the left, Paragraphs are not to be
indented; need to be Aligned left.

References: Reference and Citation: American Psychological Association (APA) – Refer:

Footnotes: (instead of endnotes) are allowed only if necessary.

Tables and figures are to be completed with titles, sources and notes, and to be explicitly
mentioned in the text (e.g., Table 3.3 indicates…)
Table/Figure colour: Black and white & Table/Figure format: Modifiable format

Abbreviation: Abbreviations and acronyms are to be used sparingly, only if it will be use more
than 3 times. First usage of the term: Term to be written in full with the abbreviation/acronym in
parenthesis; subsequent usage of the term can be used as abbreviated version.
